Helpful Hints - Definitions

So, I'm going to make an effort to start posting fully-labeled eye shadow photos as well as photo and video tutorials. I know many of you are familiar with these terms, but I want be geared toward the people that don't necessarily know a ton about makeup too!

These are terms that I will likely reference frequently, so study up! ;)

lid area - the most common place for shadow to be applied, the "middle" if you will.

natural crease - the naturally occurring fold of skin between your brow and lashline. Often times where shadow will "crease."

hollow - the deeper part of  your eye area, where the eyeball itself recedes back into the socket. Often times this will be in the same location as the natural crease, but not always, as you can see on me.

orbital bone - that edge of bone that marks the edge of the eye socket itself. Directly beneath the brow bone.

brow bone -the area of bone beneath the brow, sometimes referred to the highlight area.

Most of these terms are self explanitory, however, I just wanted to clarity "Duct."

Duct: This refers to the area of skin surrounding the natural tear duct of the eye; not the tear duct itself.

For the above look, I used Scaredy Cat Cosmetics "Chakra" on the lid, Glittersniffer Cosmetics "Detroit" on the hollow, Scaredy Cat "Teal Dear" on the orbital bone blended into Urban Decay's "Polyester Bride" on the brow bone. Glittersniffer's Julie on the duct.

Hope this helped!!

* I will be writing an official note on the use of Glittersniffer Cosmetics within the week. Until then, I do NOT endorse the use of their products. Use at your own risk.

  4. Hello! I'm commenting to urge you to retract your support of GS considering the new things that has come in to the light lately, with her not being vegan as she claimed and also using harmful dyes in her pigments. http://glittersniffercomplaints.blogspot.com has a nice overview of things, as well as Phyrra.net, Aijuswhanakno.com (if you search for glittersniffer you'll get up a few interesting reads), I wrote a blogpost about being sold harmful soap dyes and being RECOMMENDED to use it as an eyeliner, several people have reported corneal abrasions, pinkeye and more.

That is, the ones who were fortunate enough to receive their product in the first place, as she's well known for "forgetting" to ship out packages, or just not doing it and lying to customers about either doing it, or giving poor excuses for why she didn't.

If enough people get the word out there about her poor business conduct, fewer people will swallow her lies and give her their money.

  5. rebecca - I have both publicly and privately stated on many occasions that I DO NOT endorse, support, or recommended the use or purchase of Glittersniffer Cosmetics, as noted at the very end of this blog entry, as well as others.

I will continue to use the safe pigments until I acquire substitutes (which I have ordered), due to my terrible financial situation. I do not wish to continue to use them, and readers have the option to email me with color substitutes, as mentioned in a newer blog.

The things that Glittersniffer Cosmetics have done have hit very personal with me recently, as the owner personally attacked me via facebook. I will be writing an official statement as to why I no longer support GS sometime within the week.

I wish to keep any GS related drama relatively low, save for my GS review I will be doing, which will address all the scams, personal attacks, and poor business conduct. If you would like to voice any concerns that I don't end up covering, PLEASE, BY ALL MEANS, mention them in the comments section.

UNTIL THEN: READERS... I DO NOT ENDORSE, SUPPORT, OR RECOMMEND THE USE OR PURCHASE OF GLITTERSNIFFER COSMETICS. THIS IS A SHADY BUSINESS, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU SPILL YOUR MONEY INTO A FAULTY COMPANY. BUYERS BEWARE.
